Who we are
Laser Waste Ltd is a company registered in England and Wales, trading as Laser Waste.
The short version
This site sets no cookies and stores nothing on your device until you choose. No analytics, no advertising, and no third-party script runs before that choice. Declining costs you nothing — every part of the site works either way.
What we use them for
Two things only: remembering the choice you made about cookies, and — if you accept — counting visits so we can see which pages are useful and how people reach us. We do not use cookies to advertise to you, we do not build a profile of you, and we do not sell or share what they record. There are no embedded third-party widgets, and our fonts are served from our own domain rather than a font network.
Every cookie this site can set
This is the complete list, generated from the same configuration the site itself uses, so it cannot fall out of step with what is actually set.
| Name | Set by | Purpose | Expires |
|---|---|---|---|
| lw_consent | First party | Remembers the cookie choice you made, so you are not asked on every page. Strictly necessary — it is set whichever way you choose. | 12 months |
| cf_clearance / __cf_bm | Third party (Cloudflare) | Cloudflare Turnstile, set only at the moment you submit the enquiry form, to confirm the submission is not automated. | Up to 30 minutes |
| _ga | Third party (Google) | Google Analytics. Distinguishes one visitor from another so we can see which pages are useful and how people reach us. Set only if you turn analytics on. | 2 years |
| _ga_<id> | Third party (Google) | Google Analytics. Maintains the session state for this property. Set only if you turn analytics on. | 2 years |
Which of these need your consent
Under regulation 6 of the Privacy and Electronic Communications (EC Directive) Regulations 2003, we may set a cookie without asking only where it is strictly necessary to provide something you asked for. Two here qualify. The cookie recording your own cookie choice has to be set whichever way you choose, or we would have to ask again on every page. The Cloudflare Turnstile cookie is set at the moment you submit the enquiry form, and only then, to check the submission is not automated.
Everything else — in practice, Google Analytics — is optional and is not set unless you turn it on. The script that loads it is not in the page at all until that point, so declining does not merely block a cookie; nothing is requested from Google.
The analytics switch also governs something that is not a cookie at all. If you turn it on, an enquiry you submit records the site that referred you and any campaign parameters in the link you followed. If you decline, or never choose, those are not read and reach us empty. Cookie law does not reach that far, but the switch says analytics and it would be a strange kind of honesty to collect it anyway.
If you decline
We record that you declined and load nothing further. You can use the site normally, submit an enquiry and receive a reply exactly as you otherwise would. We do not ask again unless the cookies we use change — at which point the record of your earlier choice no longer describes what we would be setting, so we ask afresh.
Changing your mind
Withdrawing consent is as easy as giving it, and you can do it at any time. This button, and the “Manage cookies” link in the footer of every page, reopen the panel you saw on your first visit:
If you switch from accepting to declining we stop analytics immediately and clear the Google Analytics cookies we are able to reach. You can also delete cookies through your browser settings, and set your browser to refuse them altogether.
Complaints
If you are unhappy with how we handle cookies you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or on 0303 123 1113. We would rather you raised it with us first so we can put it right.
Changes to this policy
If we add or change a cookie we update this page and ask for your choice again before the new cookie is set. The date at the top tells you when this page last changed.
For how we handle the personal data you send us through the enquiry form, see our privacy policy.
